The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has an absolutely amazing thing happen twice a year. It is called General Conference. Members all over the world take 2 days (10 hours) to watch/listen either in person, at the Salt Lake Conference Center, or by television, via the internet or even on the radio to our Church leaders give advice, thoughts and true revelation to its thousands of members.
I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity many times to
attend Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
It is an awesome event. My favorite part is when
our Prophet walks in to the huge room,
(capable of holding 21,000 people) and the entire room is still.
Reverance envelopes each person and the feelings of peace capture your heart.
Our youngest daughter was able to attend Conference for the first time, with us this year. Children must be 8 years old to attend the live session. Because it is broadcast live on TV and small children love to not be so quiet! We also had our married daughters and their husbands with us this year. It was such a great day.

What dedication! I have never been to conference for realz - like in the tabernacle or the conference center. Wasn't it awesome! SO glad you blogged about this.
Yes we were able to go to the Conference Center on several occassions. Our favorite being the dedication of the bldg. during the first Conference held their. We were also able to attend Conference a couple of times in the Tabernacle. It truly is inspiring to see our leaders in person!! We have been a little bit spoiled, having my hubby as a Bishop and in the Stake for many years...it sometimes gives us opportunities to attend live sessions. :)
