Conference Weekend
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has an absolutely amazing thing happen twice a year. It is called General Conference. Members all over the world take 2 days (10 hours) to watch/listen either in person, at the Salt Lake Conference Center, or by television, via the internet or even on the radio to our Church leaders give advice, thoughts and true revelation to its thousands of members.
I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity many times to
attend Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
It is an awesome event. My favorite part is when
our Prophet walks in to the huge room,
(capable of holding 21,000 people) and the entire room is still.
Reverance envelopes each person and the feelings of peace capture your heart.
Our youngest daughter was able to attend Conference for the first time, with us this year. Children must be 8 years old to attend the live session. Because it is broadcast live on TV and small children love to not be so quiet! We also had our married daughters and their husbands with us this year. It was such a great day.

A new addition.,,
My Sister Krystal and her hubby Mark are the proud new parents of
Kayley Joe Reidhead! She was born on April 1, 2011 by c-section. She weighed 7.9 and was 18 inches long. She was a much anticipated and waited for baby girl. Her family is so happy to have her be part of their eternal family.

I am a very, very happy Aunt Ang.
My husband loves long hair!! He protects his daughters hair like a warrior protecting his soldiers...funny thing..he DID NOT marry someone who will ever, ever, ever have long hair!! So as any loving Father would do, he wishes, prays and hopes that his daughters will keep their tresses long. It starts in about 5th grade ~ "Dad, can I get my hair cut?" his response is always the same "NO"...hehee After much talk and bartering they figure out that a small haircut would be perfect. Small meaning..only a teeny bit. It seems like once they get to "Jodi" our favorite hair lady they have envisioned a much BIGGER cut than planned. Needless to say we have had all sorts of haircuts at our house. Short, medium, extra short and YES once in a while even a slight trim. I think the biggest of haircuts has been 14 inches off (that was Shay's cut last year). Right now all of our daughters have much shorter hair than their Dad had hoped for..but dang, they sure are cute!!

What a mixed up kinda day..
Today has been one of those days...filled with all kinds of emotions!
I wonder how much one person's mind can take in..in just a days time?
I wish that I could take pain away from my loved ones ~ I wish I could take away the fear that life may change ~ I wish that some how, some way the good things in life, would always just stay the way that they are ~ I wish that each and every day would fill us with hope, for better things to come.
I have always believed that changes in ones life are absolutely necessary for growth...but I also know (because I am a human) that "we" humans DO NOT like change! Especially the kind that takes us out of our comfort zone. The kind that makes us think about deeper things, than just "what will I cook for dinner tonight?"
The feelings I have felt today are happy, sad, mad, glad feelings!! That is the only way to describe today! Sleeping on these feelings will most likely make everything seem better and not so big and gloomy. I am sure of it!!

Baby SHOWer!!
Maki and Ally made this adorable banner.
My sister Carrie, made this adorable diaper cake!
Cute cousins!
Best food ever!
I could not figure out IF they wanted their picture taken or not .. lol
Tons of cute, cute presents!
The look on Jenna's face says it all!
It has been quite a few years since we have had a baby close by that we can spoil rotten! My brother Paul and his wife Christina have sweet babies all the time...lol...but not close enough for me to hold. I am so super excited for Baby Reidhead to be born! We have no clue what her name is...because her Momma is being stingy!! Which is okay...cause it is her baby, right? We had a fun shower for the baby last weekend! It was so much fun to have an "all girls" party!
Usually the boys are around and eat all the food!
The baby should be born on April the 1st...IF the plans stick.
It's a LUCKy Day!!
I really love all holidays...each day just gives me an excuse to celebrate and be happy!
It seems like the years slip by too quickly not to enjoy every
day to the fullest!
St' Patrick's Day brings "green stuff"...
candy, socks, hair barrettes, food and just plain fun!
We have had a leprechaun named Virgil that has lived at our house for years.
He gets blamed for alot of things.
**Tying those pesky knots in hair, while little girls sleep,
making brushing out the hair impossible!!
**He steals binkies and bottles from unsuspecting toddlers,
to never be seen again!
**He occasionally dirties clean bedrooms, that the girls swear "It wasn't me!"
**He leaves little green trinkets on St. Patrick's Day morning!
**Once in a great while he will get rid of a favorite shirt that suddenly becomes too tight for the wearer, or never actually did fit!
All in all Virgil is one of those "catch all" Leprchauns,
that really doesn't even mind being blamed for all the chaos
that goes on in the Workman household. Happy St. Patrick's Day Virgil...thanks for taking the blame when we don't want too!!

Warmer days...chilly nights
This time of year has always fascinated me...the days are getting warmer and the nights seem to stay chilly. It is at this time, that I always catch the worst cold of the year...not only the weather, but my body can't figure out if its cold or hot! I love how the sun wakes me in the morning, gently getting brighter and brighter. Nothing makes me more anxious than waking up to the dark! I have never liked that feeling. But now, just as I am getting used to my early morning wakening (with beautiful sunshine)....it will be dark again. Time to change the clocks once again. It is so confusing to my body and takes such a long time to get used too. I do love having the sun set later in the day though! Yeah for long walks in the evening sun! and yeah for the days that seem to be warmer and warmer :)

What is that light???
So this morning I woke up to an unusual sight!! It was light...the light of the sun! WOW it has certainly been a looong, looong time since that happened. We live in the shadows of Blue Bench and usually do not get the light til after 8 am, so this morning at 7 I was so happy, ecstatic and suprised to see light so early. Now I will just get used to this early ray of happiness...then the time will change...."SprING FOrward " and we will lose the light again for a month or so on those early mornings. BUT...while we have it...we are going to enjoy it!!

Watchin' the weather!
I have always, always been a weather watcher. I can not remember a time that "weather" has not envoked feelings of excitement in me. I love, love, love rain!! and I love, love snow! Heat is not nice to me, so I don't love it so much and I am not a lover of the wind!! I don't mind the extra cold weather, as long as it does not last too long. I have always been happy to live where we do have the change of seasons and unpredictable weather. It makes life a little less boring :)
One of the firsts signs of warmer weather...is being able to ride
in the back of the truck and not freezing!
I know seasons are changing when the Tanengers start to fill my trees!
There is nothing quite like the blue of the summer sky.
Or our yearly August rainstorms.
Towards the end of the summer heat, we have these pretty,
yellow colored evenings. Sometimes they are pink. Cooler
nights are on their way!
The chilly nights render our beautiful green leaves, in to
bronzier colors; hues of reds, yellows and orange!
Then one morning we wake up to that life giving
white stuff all over the landscape!!
It sometimes seems that the cold weather will never end ~ that
warmth will never be ours again! But.. IT WILL!! One morning we will
wake up and just like magic, the crocus, daffodils and even the weeds,
will be peeking their heads out of the snow...wishing us a happy spring day!

F.R.I.D.A.Y !!!
F = fabulous family fun
R = roads ready to travel
I = illnesses magically disappearing
D = dates to dine
A = absolutely my favorite weekday
Y = YOUNG..its all about feeling young again!
When I was a "school kid" we had short day Thursday...then as a parent it became short day Friday. School would dismiss shortly after lunch! It was the day to look forward too...the day we could sneak off to lunch (some place other than the school lunch room)...the day that brought an evening of ballgames, date nights, dances, sleep overs! Friday has always been my favorite weekday. Not really signifying the end of the week...but rather the beginning of the weekend!! Sleeping in...big breakfast Saturday...hopefully a movie at the theatre..or a trip to Walmart!! :) What's not too love...really? We have even had "family movies and pizza night" on Fridays!! Remember TGIF Friday on TV?Ally and Maki were little and it was the night all their favorite sitcoms were on...lots of pizza and laughing. We loved it! Seriously..we should have 2 Fridays a week. But then....would we look as forward to Fridays as we do now??? Probably NOT!! Have a great FRIDAY :)

Do you want a little "mold"?
I have the cutest niece...her name is Lindsey..aka ~ Gooey ~ Squeeky and a few other choice nicknames! I have ALOT of cute nieces and nephews..and each comes with their own special personality traits. Well Gooey's trait is to tell it like it is!!
I have an ugly mole right by my nose and for years she has thought it was gross! So in my Auntly ways I have tricked her into thinking that if you touch the mole, then touch someones face..they will wake up with their own mole...ONLY she could not say mole for a long time, so she called it a "mold". Well, she has believed for the last couple of years that she was going to get a "mold" from Aunt Ang. This morning on the way to take her siblings to school her big brother RYAN told her that for the last few years Aunt Ang has been kidding her...that you really can not get "molds" from people. She says out loud (and believe me it is loud) "I am gonna give Aunt Ang a piece of my mind!" So I talked to her over the phone and she told me that it is not nice to tease and that indeed you can NOT get molds from people. She also said "Now you can give me a little advice"..not sure what advice she wants to hear? Still trying to figure it out...I love Gooey!!

BLeSsINgs
Today Kevin and I took Shaylee to her "Foot Doctor". Shaylee was born with a severe club foot, which was corrected with surgery when she was 7 months old. She has had the same Dr. her entire life, his name is Dr. Santora...he is awesome!! We have been feeling sad lately, because Shay has been having alot of pain in her foot, which causes her to limp. Somedays are worse than others. It makes us sad that she will never be able to point that foot with the beautiful pointe of a dancer. Her calf muscle on that leg will never develop. She gets embarassed to wear shorts, swimsuits and capris ... because her leg size is so much different. So .. as you can see we were feeling like our little princess was being picked on. This last week at school some of the kids in her class were calling her a wimp, because she was so limpy this week!! Anyway as we went to the city today for the Dr. appointment, it was patient appreciation day..the air was filled with the smell of buttery popcorn and there were clowns walking the corridor of the hospital...making all the children laugh! We checked in, got our ID tags and set down. In walked a beautiful, dark haired Mom with a black backpack on her shoulders and a cute little, blonde, curly haired boy following close behind. He had on cute blue shorts and those tube socks that have a stripe on the top. She sat him down next to us, giving him a movie to watch, while she checked him in for his appointment. The little boy settled in to the chair before leaning over and takeing both his legs off and setting them carefully in front of him!! WOW...we are okay...we are blessed...our Princess Daughter is blessed. He looked at us and smiled as we walked by. After Shay had her x-rays and was measured, weighed ect. towards us toddled a dark haired little guy, probably 2 or 3 years old. His hair came to a point in the middle of his head. "What a cutie" I said to Kevin. When we got in the room he asked if I had noticed that he only had one hand......no I did not notice. All I know for sure is that we are blessed and that Shaylee is blessed..things could always be so much worse.

Some of my favorite "cold weather" pictures..
This picture was taken in 2007! My Dad has always been a trooper when it comes to the cold weather. On this day he was out sledding with the grandkids...they will never, ever forget that day!!
Three of my nephews trying out the new guns they got for Christmas...taken in 2007.
2008 and alot of snow..I think Kevin shoveled almost a month straight that year!
Shaylee all in white 2008. Ready for church and looking so pretty!
A little black on white... Mallary's
Jr. year of high school. 2008
2008 a chilly Sunday morning. One of those rare Sunday mornings
we have Kevin home before church.
The same Sunday morning...now the girls turn, poor Kevin
lives with a house full of women.
